Description
Swank Tools began as a personal project between father and son, built on a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and the process of creating something from nothing.
Each tool starts as a poured block, combining exotic woods sourced from around the world with carefully developed color blends. These tones are created by hand, mixing pigments to achieve a range of depth, transparency, and contrast, allowing each piece to take on its own visual identity depending on the materials used.
Once cured, the blocks are cut down into individual blanks and shaped by hand on the lathe. From that point forward, the process becomes entirely organic, with each tool developing its own form, balance, and character as it is turned.
No two tools are ever identical. Even when they originate from the same block, each one evolves differently through the shaping process.
Over time, the materials have expanded to include rare and distinctive woods such as Australian Amboyna Burl, African pink ivory, purple heart, spalted Tamarind, quilted maple, desert ironwood, claro walnut, and more. Each material behaves differently, from how it bonds with epoxy to how it responds during shaping, making every finished piece the result of both experimentation and refinement.
Swank Tools are not mass produced. They are individual pieces shaped through a process that values patience, creativity, and attention to detail at every step.
Each tool stands as a small, functional piece of craftsmanship, meant to be selected, used, and appreciated.
These tools are delicate by nature. They can break if dropped on hard surfaces and are not intended for heavy handling. They are designed for personal use and should be treated with care.
